Me and my husband decided to holiday in Sunny Beach last August mainly due to the fact that it is not part of the euro so our money would go further. We stayed in a nice little apartment close to the beach which was fantastic and had a lovely pool. The beach is so beautiful in Sunny Beach and one of the longest beaches Ive ever seen and there plenty of sandy dunes and secluded coves to chill out and enjoy the sun.

The Longest Cleanest Beach
Even though it was very busy the beach didn’t feel crowded and there’s was plenty of sun loungers and parasols available and they didn’t cost to much either. The beach is very clean and the sea is so blue and there where plenty of water sports available.
I loved the jet skis and para sailing while my husband tired his hand unsuccessfully at water skiing but we both enjoyed the beach. Even though we just went as a couple we saw that there was plenty to do for children such as parks, a rodeo and even a funfair. There were plenty of restaurants through the resort, our favourite was Chilly Pepper which is on the main strip, the staff are very friendly and the service was excellent. We also tried the traditional mehanas which was accompanied by shopska salad and copious amounts of alcohol.
The Viking Bar was a very popular place to drink on an evening and had a fantastic cocktail menu. Yeates Bar was also another great place to drink. Plenty of the bars had happy hours which lasted most of the night. We did a few excursions one of our favourites was the Khan Tent trip which we booked through our tour operator, its set in a secluded setting that has some fantastic views of the surrounded coastline. All the waiters wear period costumes and the food is so delicious and there was plenty of wine flowing that night, which is then followed by a very entertaining folk and floor show. We also went to the Blue Mountain and took the chairlift ride to the top which has some impressive views, we also had lunch at the top as we looked out across the mountain range.
The day before we left we took a boat trip to Nessebar which is wonderful old town that is protected by UNESCO. As Bulgaria is not yet part of the euro we did have a very cheap holiday and would recommend Sunny Beach to anyone as it is suitable for all ages.

My husband Billy and i holidayed in the Costa Del Sol towards the end of April. We stayed at the Nerja Club on the edge of Nerja and we both had a delightful holiday. Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious and the whole hotel had a warm, friendly atmosphere to it.
We could not fault the staff from the maids to the reception staff they where all willing to help and always had a smile of their faces. We were half board at the hotel and there was always an abundance of hot and cold food even for my Billy who’s a fussy eater. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to town but we enjoy walking so walked there and back most days, however there is a local bus service that is very frequent.
The nightly entertainment was very enjoyable and always pulled in an audience, it didn’t go on into the early hours which was very reasonable for us in our senior years. This was our first visit to the Nerja Club but we met others who are regulars at the hotel and i can honestly say we will be visiting this hotel in the near future.

My husband David and I have just returned from a week at the Pineda Park apartments in La Pineda, Costa Dorada with our eight month old son Thomas. We got an amazing deal on the holiday as we booked just a week before we flew out.
On arrival we where plenty surprised by how nice the apartments where. Our apartment was very spacious and clean and was well equipped for a self catering holiday, and the balcony was huge. The maids cleaned our room six of the seven days we were there and our towels where cleaned every other day. The pool area was lovely and there’s a smaller pool for the children. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The resort is low key but to be honest it suited us as this was our first family holiday and its easy to get around even with a pram. The beach is only five minutes from the apartments and is really clean and would be safe for older children.
The beach is backed by a beautiful long promenade which was perfect for walking along to get Thomas to sleep. We ate out in the restaurants around the resort and there a wide selection of cuisine to choose from.
After our meals we headed back to the apartments as they did evening entertainment which was surprisingly good. The Admiral Bar attached to the apartments is a great place to eat. It was lovely during the day to just wander around and take in the relaxed atmosphere that the resort offered.
The apartments are very close to Portaventura Theme Park so when Thomas is old enough for theme parks we will definitely go back. We had a really enjoyable time in La Pineda and would go back tomorrow.
The very happy Cook family from Dorset.

So you’ve heard about all these cheap flights with Ryanair, but when you look online they always seem to be much more expensive than what you were lead to believe… Am I correct? Thought so. Well here’s a few tips to try and get those elusive cheap fares… These cheap flights are available mainly during the week (for example out Monday, back Wednesday) so are handy if you want a couple of nights away to somewhere daft for a quick break, so may not be suitable all the time as you have to be totally flexible and play them at their own game. They draw you in with the offer price, its up to you to hunt hard on the website and stick to the offer prices. Click on one of the offers you like the look of on the Ryanair homepage and view the details of how to get those fares. They will always be for non peak dates - the blackout ‘peak’ period will be indicated as well as any other conditions of travel. Averagely, the offer will be for about two months in advance of the date you visit the site.

Make the most from your Ryanair flights...
The next and probably biggest task of the whole procedure is to search for the ‘live’ cheap flights on the system. If the offer for your chosen route is on for March for example, start on the 1st of March and check each and every outbound and return flight for every day in March. The offer price never charges you extra for taxes, so if you are getting charged for taxes then you haven’t got the offer price even if the ‘base’ price appears low and if the price is described as a ‘SPECIAL OFFER’ or similar. Once you find some suitable flights that match the price of the offer on the homepage, then you are ready to proceed with your booking. To get the offer price you will then have to remove all the added ‘extras’. This means selecting ‘0 bags and online check-in’ meaning that you can only take hand luggage and no hold baggage onto the plane (which for 2 or 3 nights shouldn’t be a problem - just remember that you won’t be able to take any sharp objects onboard and all liquids have to not exceed 100ml each (max. 10 liquid items) and be in a clear re-sealable ’sandwich’ style plastic bag ready to be checked at security) and means that you need to ‘check-in’ online and print off both your outbound and return boarding passes (which you can do from 14 days in advance). As well as this, you need to de-select the ‘priority boarding’ which adds money onto your booking and just means you have to board with everyone else (no big deal!!!). Also de-select the travel insurance (making sure you make alternative arrangements) which is another added on charge.

Become your own travel agent... Where will you jet off to on your cheap flights?!!
You will then proceed to the payment screen, which you will need an visa electron card to avoid any further charges. If you can’t get hold off one, you can apply through the Halifax bank, who offer a free basic online account which comes with visa electron card and takes about 2 to 3 weeks on average to set up. Definitely worth having for the future also. Once you pay using your electron card, you then have a confirmed booking and are ready to travel!!! The best flights I went on were this November from Leeds/Bradford to Gerona in Spain. I waited for the ‘free flight’ offer (actually charges you a penny each way) that comes around every month or so in the winter months and booked up the flights for a sum total of 2p return!!! The flights were only half full also, meaning that we had two rows of extra legroom seats to ourselves each way too… God bless Ryanair!!!

OMG!! do NOT go here if you plan to sleep, are a happily married couple or have kids, well not in August anyway!! DO go here if you are looking for fun, alcohol and partying all night long!! We went on 20th August for a week - good job as 2 weeks would have probably finished me off!!!! And had THE most fantastic time (from what I can remember!!)
We stayed at the Odysseus, just along the road from the main strip and a couple of minutes from the beach. When we got there we thought the apartment was a bit basic and not very big - who cares - it had a bed, shower and kettle - what more do you need, you are only there to get washed and changed - not even sleep as you do that by the pool during the day!!!

We ate out all the time as we are far too lazy to cook - plenty of English grub, pizzas and fast food places to choose from! The pool area was small but really clean and we went to the beach one day but atmosphere not as good, bar at pool pumps out music all day (and most of the night) so best place to be. Pool bar did happy hours and as long as you watched your change (no different really to bars in Bradford when you are drunk!!) as if they think you are drunk they will try to diddle you…
Now the night life…..where do I begin?!?!? Well to be honest, best thing we thought was the organised bar crawl on the first night - free drinks all over the place and we found all the best places to go, so after that we knew exactly where to head for and didn’t waste time in boring places. Lots of happy hours and although spirits are all the local ones after the first few you don’t notice the taste!! Clubs don’t usually open til 1am so we never got home before 7am, grabbed our bikinis and slept by the pool, sometimes difficult with the loud music but manageable if the hangover is that bad!!!! 2wentys Reps were great, didn’t hassle us if we didn’t want to join in with things, but we usually did anyway as they were such a good laugh and the crowded were there with were brilliant fun!
We did the booze cruise, dived for champagne, competed for the best belly-flopper and had the best laugh ever!! The night before we came home we had an old school disco - hilarious, we all dressed up in school uniform (don’t worry the reps will sell you stuff) yet all ended up swapping clothes with the lads as the night went on…
So forget about Ibiza as the party place, come to Kavos, Corfu on a 2wentys holiday!! The music, the people and the atmosphere are out of this world!!

We got a last minute bargain on the Holiday Hypermarket website and went off to the Levante Lux apartments for a weeks holidays in Benidorm. We can honestly say we had one of the best holidays we have ever had. The apartments were cheap and cheerful, nothing flash but then we hadn’t paid flash money. The apartment was clean and had a huge balcony, the maid came in every day and changed the linen and towels once.
We stayed self catering and ate out each night, there are restaurants and bars just a 2 minute walk away, we were quite pleased not to be in the middle of the party scene though as it was nice to come back to a peaceful apartment. The pool was great, again nothing special but plenty of room and could usually get a lounger (sometimes not if we went down after lunch but that was our fault for being so lazy!!)

We’d read some of the reviews about the bond and all inclusive drinks upgrade, well we paid a £40 bond for breakages on arrival but got that back no problem , infact everywhere I have stayed in recent years has done this so no surprise there. We opted against the all inclusive drinks package we could take up on arrival as to be honest we don’t drink that much during the day and every night we easily found bars offering happy hours so stuck to them and probably saved another fortune!
Overall we had a great weeks stay, nothing to complain about at all and would recommend it for a cheap break to anyone looking for something near the nightlife but not too central that it is rowdy.
It was our first holiday to Benidorm and we had heard people describe it as Blackpool in the sun, well yes I can see what they mean, but I hate Blackpool (perhaps the weather clouded my judgement) but I absolutely loved the atmosphere in Benidorm, whether people chill out more when they are abroad I don’t know, but we found the people friendly, the endless souvenir shops quite amusing and the fact that we could have fish and chips if we chose to was fine by us!! It’s quirky, lively, great fun and most of all HOT!!

I really wanted to get away on holiday but my husband Nicolas didn’t want to spend a lot, so i set about searching the internet for a bargain. We really didn’t mind where we went as long as there was something to do for the boys (age 5 & 7). I found an amazing self catering apartment for Fuengirola, Spain and didn’t hesitate to book it, the flight times weren’t great but what the heck it was a bargain. So 2 weeks later in June last off we flew, when we got there it was anything but bargain basement.
Our apartment was very spacious and the view from the balcony was beautiful. The staff where very friendly and the maids kept our room spotless and my boys can be very messy. The next day we headed to the beach and it goes on for miles, the beach is really clean and my boys had great fun burying their dad and swimming in the sea. There’s a promenade that runs the length of the beach and there plenty of beach side cafes and tavernas to grab a quick snack. The boys particularly enjoyed the mini train that runs around the resort and into the neighbouring resort of Benalmadena. We also went to the water park which the boys absolutely loved it there so much that we went again the day before we flew home.
The zoo is a fantastic place to visit and is like a tropical rain forest where the animals are as close as they can be to their natural habitat. There’s plenty of places to eat on a night the only problem we had we choosing where to. We have an amazing cheap holiday and would recommend Fuengirola to anybody wanting a great family holiday.

My mum is always entering competitions and never wins anything more than a pen but last May she won a weeks holiday to Ibiza. When she told me she’d won a holiday i was thinking she cant go clubbing with her arthritis. Thankfully we where staying in the lovely resort of Es Cana, we stayed in a lovely half board hotel. We had a lovely room and the staff was really helpful, not sure if this was because we’d won the holiday but we weren’t complaining at their hospitality. The hippy market is set in woodland at the Club Punta Arabi and can get very busy and hot. Many of the stalls sell a variety of candles, incense, jewellery, bags, clothes and local handicrafts. There are also some great hippy entertainers and buskers making for a fun day out. The beach is beautiful and clean and the sea is so warm, there’s plenty of sun loungers along the beach and they didn’t cost too much.

The Beautiful Beach
Throughout the resort are plenty of bars and i never knew my mum was such a party animal, i was wanting to go to bed before her. Most of the bars are offering 2 for 1 deals and other promotions. Charley’s has good entertainment with a comedian singer and can get quiet busy. The zodiac bar and restaurant is also a good place to go for entertainment and the restaurant food is really nice and not to expensive. As we where half board we ate at the hotel 4 nights and ate out in the resort the other 3. We didn’t have a bad meal in our week here. During the day there are plenty of places to grab a snack. We didn’t do any excursions but people we met there had been on the glass bottom boat trip and said they had enjoyed it. Throughout the resort are lots of supermarkets and souvenir shops. We had a really good holiday and we only had to fork out for spending money so did end up having a cheap holiday.

We stayed at the Club Praia de Rocha in November and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was our first visit to Portugal and this was a last minute cheap holiday (£231 for a week) so we weren’t sure what to expect. The room was basic but clean and spacious and we had a balcony with a sea view and the room was cleaned every day except Sunday. We had 2 single beds when we had expected a double but it didn’t bother us enough to complain. The pool was great with plenty of sun loungers available, however we had to pay for them each day but it did stop people bagging them too early in the day, however the water was a bit cold!! The indoor one came in handy though! The weather was better than I expected but cold on a night so make sure you take a jacket. The beach was lovely and clean and there were plenty of bars and restaurants along the sea front, you could find everything from Chinese, Indian, Pizza and Irish and English bars. All in all we had a great time and if you get the chance to book a cheap holiday here then do it… we were very pleasantly surprised at the standard we got for our money.
